The St. Paul’s Band is the most seen, and the most well-known part of the school. Millions of people worldwide have heard of the Marching Wolves. The wolves also provide entertainment for the state by playing in multiple Mardi Gras parades, football games, and the Battle of the Bands. This past year the Marching Wolves suffered a great loss due to the Covid-19 taking away more than a fourth of the band.  During the 2018 -2019 season, the band had over 100 members and with a strong sound, the band competed and still competes, in multiple competitions during the season. During the 2019-2020 season, the Marching Wolves had an even 100 members competing with St. Augustine’s Marching 100. Finally, last year’s 2020-2021 season only maintained about 70 of its returning members – and with 11 new members joining -the band was brought up to about 81 members in total.

As mentioned before the Marching Wolves perform at several events throughout the country! The Marching Wolves perform on average 12 football games a year; performing on the Northshore, Southshore, New Orleans, and occasionally Slidell. As for parades the Marching Wolves march a total of 52 miles a season. The wolves perform in Cleopatra, Endymion, Bacchus, Olympia, Carrollton, Hermes, and Rex! The Marching Wolves also go to Disney World bi-annually, and the band has been invited to play in London, England; The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade; and Zurich, Switzerland.

This year the Marching Wolves are sitting at about 90 members in total. The Marching Wolves Band Director, Andrew Moran, has been the director for 12 years. He is hosting recruitment lunches during the school’s designated lunch period. These lunches may include free pizza, Sonic burgers, and Chick-Fil-A chicken sandwiches. The way you join is by going to the recruitment lunches and signing your name down. If you were to miss lunch and want to sign, up the band meets after school from 3:30 to 5:00 Monday thru Thursday. You don’t need to know how to play an instrument of any kind the Marching Wolves will help you learn. To recap the Marching Wolves are trying to recruit as many people as possible. The Marching Wolves are not only the top band on the Northshore, but they are a brotherhood that helps each other get through school work and after-school work.
