1. Atlanta Falcons (6-0): It breaks my heart to say this, but the Falcons are a very good football team this year. Matty Ice is on fire! The Ice Man (Matt Ryan) has a 98.8 passer rating and is currently 3rd in the league in passing yards. Their defense is incredible at getting turnovers and is the main reason for the Falcons success this year.
.
2. Houston Texans (5-1): The Texans are a great football team; and if they are injury free by the end of the season, there is no doubt in my mind that they will have a good chance at being in Super Bowl XLVII come February. They played a terrible game against the Packers, but I am confident that they will bounce back next week against the Baltimore Ravens.
.
3. Chicago Bears (4-1): The Chicago Bears are a really good football team, and they are silently flying under the radar so far. Their defense and special teams are excellent, and they also have a solid offense to back them up.
.
.
4. New York Giants (4-2): Eli Manning is having another solid season this year, and this team could continue to win a lot of ball games this year. They have a good defense and a solid run game and should continue to be successful.
.
5. San Francisco 49ers (4-2): The New York Giants really beat them bad this past weekend, but the Niners are still a very good team. They will most likely continue to win a lot of games this season.
.
6. Baltimore Ravens (5-1): The Ravens are a very solid team. The reason I ranked them this low is because their star defensive players, Ray Lewis (triceps), Lardarius Webb (knee) and Haloti Ngata (knee, shoulder) are battling injuries and could be out for a long time. I just don’t see the Ravens being an elite team this year with this many defensive injuries.
.
7. Seattle Seahawks (4-2): The Seahawks have one of the best defenses in the league, and their offense, led by Quarterback Russell Wilson, is very good as well. This is a team that could get better and better as the weeks go on.
.
8. Green Bay Packers (3-3): Aaron Rodgers played fantasticly on Sunday Night against the undefeated Houston Texans. He threw for six touchdowns and leads the league in passer rating (105.4). If they continue to play this way, they might be the number one team in a few weeks.
.
9. New England Patriots (3-3): They have a better defense than they had last year, and their offense is by far the best in the league. But, they still aren’t clicking like they usually do. We will have to wait and see if the Patriots get back to Super Bowl form.
.
10. Minnesota Vikings (4-2): The Vikings were beaten by the Washington Redskins this past weekend, but they are still a good team. Christian Ponder, however, will have to play better if he wants to get into the playoffs this season.
.
.
11. Philadelphia Eagles (3-3): Michael Vick has had major trouble with fumbling this season, and if he doesn’t fix that problem than the Eagles will only be a 7 or 8 win team this season. With that being said, they still have a very good defense and could get hot on offense at any moment. I still think they are playoff contenders this year.
.
12. Arizona Cardinals (4-2): The Cardinals kicker, Jay Feely, made a 61-yard field goal last game and then missed any easy chip shot field goal shortly after. Quarterback Kevin Kolb was injured, also, and I’m not sure if John Skelton will be able to win them as many ball games as Kolb did.
.
13. Denver Broncos (3-3): After a great comeback Monday night, the Denver Broncos, led by Peyton Manning, are a very dangerous team. They have a good offense and defense, and are only going to get better.
.
14. Pittsburgh Steelers (2-3): The Steelers defense is just not as good as we are accustomed to seeing. They have given up a lot more points than they gave up last season, and they aren’t winning as many games as they did last year through week six.
.
15. Washington Redskins (3-3): Robert Griffin III has pretty much already sealed the Rookie of the Year Award. He has been playing outstandingly well. If he stays healthy, this team will be playoff contenders for sure.
.
16. Miami Dolphins (3-3): One of the biggest shocks this year, the Miami Dolphins, have done a solid job so far this season. They are 3-3, and rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill is playing very well.
.
17. Dallas Cowboys (2-3): The Cowboys never seem to get any better, no matter how many changes they make. It makes you wonder if the coaching staff is the problem, because the Cowboys have a ton of talent on their roster. With that being said, the Cowboys are a better team than what their record says.
.
18. San Diego Chargers (3-3): The Chargers had a huge lead on the Broncos Sunday night, only to allow Peyton Manning to go on a scoring rampage and embarrass them on national television. Philip Rivers is not playing well, and it doesn’t look good for the Chargers at this point.
.
19. Detroit Lions (2-3): The Lions are one of the most pass-happy teams in the league, and it hasn’t exactly been working out so far. Their defense has also been very bad this season, and they have given up a ton of yards.
.
20. New Orleans Saints (1-4): On Sunday night against the San Diego Chargers, Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints offense finally got things going. As usual, the offense is playing very well. However, their defense may be one of the worst defenses in the history of the NFL after the season is over. They have given up the second most total yards in the history of the league and have also given up the most rushing yards ever through the first five games. However, the Saints are an extremely dangerous team and could get hot any minute.
.
21. St. Louis Rams (3-3): The Rams have not had much of a running game this season, but last week it seemed like they were able to get it going pretty well. Their passing offense is average. If they can’t get a solid running game going in the next few weeks, they will most likely suffer another losing season.
.
22. Cincinnati Bengals (3-3): Quarterback Andy Dalton is one of the most overlooked quarterbacks in the game today. He is playing at a high level and has thrown for 1725 yards thus far. The Bengals defense is currently ranked 15th in yards given up. But, if they can get a little better, than this could be a lot stronger team than what we are seeing.
.
23. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-3): The Bucs are a very physical team, but they haven’t been playing as well as they would like. Their defense is pretty bad this season, and their offense isn’t exactly playing great either. Luckily, they get to play the worst defense in the league by far this week in the New Orleans Saints.
.
24. New York Jets (3-3): Mark Sanchez played lights out in the first game of the season against the Buffalo Bills, but then played terribly the next four games. The Jets finally had a decent offensive game last week, but Mark Sanchez is still on the hot seat. Celebrity quarterback, Tim Tebow, is patiently waiting for his moment to be the starter in New York. Sanchez better keep playing well if he wants to stay the starter in the Big Apple.
.
25. Indianapolis Colts (2-3): The 1st pick in the 2012 draft, Andrew Luck, has been playing very well for a rookie, but the team is just not very good as a whole. If they fix some things on both sides of the ball then they could be a tough team to beat.
.
26. Buffalo Bills (3-3): The Bills are not a very good team, but their record says differently. They are at .500 and they haven’t been able to much of anything this season.
.
27. Carolina Panthers (1-4): The Panthers have only won one game and that was against the New Orleans Saints and their poor defensive efforts. It’s starting to look like opposing teams have begun to figure out Cam Newton. They will most likely lose a lot more games this season.
.
28. Tennessee Titans (2-4): Chris Johnson is one of the biggest fantasy busts this season and hasn’t played nearly as well as he usually plays. Quarterback Jake Locker is out with an injury, and they are just a bad team right now.
.
29. Oakland Raiders (1-4): Running back Darren McFadden has been off to a very slow start this season. If he can’t get those legs of his to start working soon, this team might not win five games.
.
30. Cleveland Browns (1-5): The Browns are having another terrible season, like always. These fans have to be fed up after years and years of poor play. I feel very bad for their season ticket holders. They deserve better than what they have been paying for and should be able to watch their team win every now and then.
.
31. Jacksonville Jaguars (1-4): Quarterback Blaine Gabbert doesn’t look like he is the guy that Jacksonville needs to win a Super Bowl. The Jaguars are a very bad team this season, and they probably aren’t getting any better.
.
32. Kansas City Chiefs (1-5): The Chiefs are ranked by most as the worst team in the NFL. There really isn’t one good thing about this team at all, except for the fact that they may be getting the number one pick in the draft come February.
