Saint Paul’s “Get Involved Day” Attracts Hundreds of Interested Students

Saint Paul’s hosted its annual “Get Involved Day” during lunch on August 22, 2023.

Every year, Saint Paul’s has a day for students to sign up for clubs they may be interested in. Hundreds of students flocked to the club tables to the point where Founder’s Circle was packed, and the moderators were overwhelmed with all of the students asking about clubs.

There are new clubs this year, such as Sign Language, Spike Ball, Woodworking, the Model Congress Club, and many more.

Many of the club tables had their own interesting display to attract the attention of all the students. For example, the Rugby Club table had rugby balls and jerseys laid out.

They also had a slideshow showcasing the sport displayed on the table. In addition, the popular Wolves on Wheels Club also had a unique display; one of its own creations, a life-sized red model vehicle, was being driven by the students in the grass!

Many new students benefited from the unique experience. For instance, hundreds of pre-freshmen were frantically walking around trying to check out all of the club tables before lunch ended. Saint Paul’s sophomore Jacob Marcel’s main takeaway from the event was that “Get Involved Day” was “a nice opportunity for the new students to experience what some of our clubs are like.”

One of the new clubs being introduced this year is the “Debate Club.” More than 30 students signed up for the club during “Get Involved Day.” Additionally, the Fantasy Football Club had more than 40 sign ups!

The Woodworking Club is intriguing because students get the hands-on opportunity to learn how to carve wood, and make sculptures. Moreover, the Spike Ball Club seems extremely appealing to some students who enjoy the sport but lack the opportunity to play often with friends.

Saint Paul’s senior Talon Boudreaux was particularly pumped about the new Model Congress Club. “I was excited to see the Model Congress Club because my friend Dylan Underwood had been talking about it for a long time, and I was excited to see it up and in motion.”

Overall, “Get Involved Day” was a great opportunity for Saint Paul’s students to sign up for the clubs they were interested in.
