Saint Paul’s Marching Wolves Expect a Spectacular Season

The Saint Paul’s Marching Wolves have a very promising season ahead of them with exciting performances upcoming and leadership at an all-time high.

The Marching Wolves have always had great leadership, but this year the senior leadership is looking stronger than ever.

Over the summer, Saint Paul’s junior drum major Beau Thomas was appointed for the job. Thomas is already looking to be a promising leader and a great teacher to the younger students. Alongside Thomas is senior drum major Shawn Cooney. Cooney also seems to be a flawless fit for the position, especially since he already has a year of experience as a junior drum major, where he showed strong traits of leadership and responsibility.

Marching Wolf senior Sam Drez is very satisfied with the new leadership. “Over my five years with the band, this year has to have the best leadership yet. Throughout every section there is always someone there to help and teach new things. We should be able to have our best season yet.”

Besides leadership, the Marching Wolves have many notable performances to look forward to. One is their biannual performance at Disney World where the Marching Wolves will be marching down Main Street for the first time. This parade is extremely significant, and it especially means more to the Marching Wolves’ director, Andrew Moran.

Moran reflected on the longstanding tradition. “The band members should be excited to be given this opportunity. I can remember being able to march down Main Street in Disney World with my high school band. It was truly a magical experience, and I’m glad to be able to give the Band members the same opportunity.”

In addition to Disney World, the Marching Wolves have to prepare for the Mardi Gras season. According to many, the performances during Mardi Gras parades are what give the Marching Wolves their greatest fame. The Marching Wolves are often invited to New Orleans’ biggest parades for their extravagant dances, loud music, and their uniformity.

With the new and responsible senior leadership, this Mardi Gras season is expected to be spectacular.

Accordingly, one goal the Marching Wolves have for this upcoming Mardi Gras season is to win as many competitions and awards as possible. This goal is likely to be accomplished seeing as two years ago the Marching Wolves won Krewe of Rex’s award for Best Band for the 2022 season.

Additionally, the Marching Wolves began performing at Saint Paul’s football games. Their first performance at the Saint Paul’s Jamboree game against Rummel was a fantastic success. The Marching Wolves put up an impressive first performance, especially since the new members have only had three weeks to practice together.

During this upcoming football season, the Marching Wolves have a surprise halftime performance in the works. This halftime performance is centered around a world-renowned pop star, and the band expects rave reviews from this performance.

Unfortunately, however, the Marching Wolves are playing for more than just music this season.

They are also playing for beloved senior band member Phoenix Bigler and his family. Bigler is recovering from a brain injury due to experiencing cardiac arrest while riding his bike before the start of the school year. The Marching Wolves have supported their fellow brother by selling bracelets that donate money to his family, and they also have gone to Touro hospital in New Orleans to perform for Phoenix. The Marching Wolves look forward to having him back before the end of the year.

The Marching Wolves, with strong leadership, will be extra motivated to perform and win.
