Crows have recently invaded the main school building and coach’s office looking for scraps of food.
“Crows and dogs have long been a part of our campus wildlife,” said Assistant Principal Trevor Watkins, noting that they often show up after lunch. “The crows hang out in the tall pines waiting for the chimes and then swoop down to feast on the detritus left by the boys.”
The crows have gone as far as flying into school buildings, even perching on Mick Nunez’s hat in the coach’s office. One blasphemous crow even boldly perched atop the statue of Jesus on the second floor of the main school building.
“I think they have noticed the large amount of detritus, particularly in the coaches’ office, that they can find there,” said Watkins.

Most students have not noticed the post-lunch invasions because of their attendance inside third period classrooms. However, some straggling students have witnessed the crows swoop from the trees and begin the siege of the campus. The crows typically wait until the grounds are unpopulated after lunch to make their move.
“The birds on the campus are scary because they are evil creatures. They haven’t affected me personally, but they have affected my school,” said senior Alex Davis.
Watkins has asked the teachers to prevent further invasions by keeping doors closed and enforcing all trash to be thrown away in their proper receptacles.
