Facebook has become a big part of today’s social media, used at some point by pretty much everyone you talk to. However, lately people don’t use Facebook as much anymore or just don’t like it as much as they did when the website first gained popularity. Facebook used to be a clean-cut, simple website to use, and now it is too complex for some social media users.
One thing that makes Facebook more of a pain now is the Facebook Timeline. Facebook Timeline is a radical new profile page design that changes the default profile from a list of your most recent updates to a complete summary of your entire life since birth.
Facebook is also not as private as you think it is. One can easily create an account and impersonate another person, often for malicious or mischievous reasons and to harass and/or deceive others. Also, there is a good chance you can get hacked or accidentally download a virus from the use of Facebook.
One good thing about Facebook is you can stay in touch with people anywhere in the world. Also, it can be entertaining if you are just surfing the web. But although you can stay in touch with old friends with Facebook, you can also do that with any other social network. If you use another network, such as Instagram or Twitter, you can stay in touch with friends and not be bombarded with ads and annoying requests. You also would not have to worry as much about your identity getting stolen or information being leaked out that wasn’t meant to be.
As more and more of the younger generation continues to flee Facebook, it appears that the Facebook era is over, and it does not look like it will be returning anytime soon. More and more people are using Instagram and Twitter as their social network of choice. These sites are more simple and less dangerous with fewer annoyances than Facebook.
