The British music group, Mumford & Sons, held their rescheduled performance at Mardi Gras World in New Orleans on Monday, Sept. 16.
The original performance was scheduled for June, but was postponed due to the bassist of the group experiencing a brain aneurism. Opening acts for the show included The Mystery Jets and Johnny Flynn. Most individuals attending the concert enjoyed the new opening acts.
“I had a great time; I’m so glad I finally got to see Mumford and Sons,” noted Katherine Stolin, sophomore at Saint Scholastica Academy.
Tickets for the event went on sales a few months prior to the event for a rather inexpensive price of $45. As expected, these tickets sold out almost immediately. Second-sale tickets quickly appeared on resale sites such as Stubhub for steep prices; some up to $200. The original sale of tickets was on a limited release. Individuals wishing to purchase tickets were to enter their emails and some would receive links to purchase the pre-sale tickets. The performances were held on an outdoor stage similar to the stage setup at The Buku Project, a music festival that is also held at Mardi Gras World in March.

Two other bands from the UK, The Mystery Jets and Johnny Flynn opened the performance with sets of one hour long each. Both of these bands just joined the tour, and Monday night was their first performances on tour with Mumford & Sons. The crowd kept growing during both of the opening acts. At the end of the Johnny Flynn set, almost the entire outdoor area along the Mississippi River was packed with people.

Other notable concerts coming up in New Orleans include: Passion Pit, The Lumineers, Major Lazer, and The Voodoo Experience.
