The 2013 homecoming court is set to be recognized Friday, Oct. 4, at halftime of the St. Paul’s School homecoming game against Hammond High School. The court includes three senior maids and a junior maid, but unlike last year’s court, there will be no sophomore maid.
The homecoming queen was elected by students Thursday morning and will be announced and recognized at Friday’s game.
Due to the threat of inclement weather from Tropical Storm Karen, the game has been moved from a 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. start time, and the pep rally that was originally scheduled for 2:30 p.m. has been cancelled, according to a school-wide email from President/Principal Bro. Ray Bulliard, FSC.
Unlike in years past, the homecoming dance for sophomores, juniors, and seniors will not be held the night after the homecoming game. The dance will instead be held next Saturday, Oct. 12, in the Briggs Assembly Center. The dance was moved because Jazz ‘N Roll will be held the day after the homecoming game, which will allow alumni who come to Covington for game to attend the Jazz ‘N Roll event. The school is also hosting alumni gatherings before and after the game.
