Junior Walden Perry recently adjusted the totals for each period as the St. Paul’s students have been vigorously donating funds for the school’s annual Adopt-A-Family program over the past few weeks. In order to raise awareness and interest in the program, one history teacher, Kim Gardner, has even gone as far as to offer a grand prize pot-luck party day for the class of hers that brings in the most revenue for the group.
So far, roughly $500 has been raised in just her five classes alone, and competitive spirit amongst the rival history students has generated a great deal of profit that will not only benefit them, but also the families sponsored by the program. The SPS Adopt-A-Family program brings Christmas cheer to local needy families. Students donate and collect money, then buy, wrap, and deliver the Christmas gifts to the designated families.
