Bathing in Our Own Creative Juices: SPS Art

unnamed

The students in Art III at Saint Paul’s are finishing an excellent semester. Students in Art III, under the instruction of Gerald Ancar and Andrew Dart, focus on painting and other forms of visual art. The students are required to design and paint two pieces per semester. Students construct their own canvas by cutting wood, building it to a certain shape, and stretching the canvas themselves; a difficult task.

“In art class, we are bathing in our own creative juices,” noted Dart.

In the class, the students work at their own pace because art cannot be rushed. The art created by the students in the class is usually displayed in the hallways of Lasalle Hall. When asked to describe the art class in one word, Ancar said, “Stimulating.”
