With Oscar Sunday right around the corner, the media is abuzz with predictions of who shall come out victorious amongst the biggest categories of the Academy Awards. The Paper Wolf decided to tip its hat into the Oscar prediction ring.

Best Picture: “12 Years a Slave”
This movie has all of the aspects of an Academy Award-winning movie. Not only is it historical, but the emotion portrayed by all, as well as the dialogue, made this movie top notch.
Best Actor: Leonardo DiCaprio for “Wolf of Wall Street”
He deserves an Oscar, though not necessarily for this movie. But, we Wolves stick together.
Best Actress: Cate Blanchett for “Blue Jasmine”
She is an absolutely phenomenal actress put up against, arguably, the biggest name in female acting, Meryl Streep. Her performance was spot-on and had all audiences engaged.
Best Supporting Actor: Michael Fassbender for “12 Years a Slave”
Not only was his performance excellent, but the Academy seems to love historical movies that have a deep emotional draw.
Best Supporting Actress: Lupita Nyong’o for “12 Years a Slave”
This was a toss up between her and Julia Roberts. Both gave exceptional performances, but “12 Years a Slave” has the historical background and the emotional draw, while “August Osage County” only has the emotional draw and an average ending.

Best Animated Feature Film: “Frozen”
Hands down, the best movie in this category. Not only is it Disney, but most have rarely said anything negative about it, whatsoever. The music is superb, the voices are astounding, the animation was perfect, the story was hilarious and touching all at once. This is the easiest Oscar pick of them all.
Cinematography: “Gravity”
Wow. Enough said.
