(COVINGTON, La.) — For the third straight year, the St. Paul’s Wolves will host the Archbishop Rummel Raiders in the Christian Brothers Jamboree on Friday, Aug. 28. The Wolves and Raiders had faced off in the Fontainebleau Jamboree for a number of years until 2013, when St. Paul’s began to host the Christian Brothers Jamboree.
The Wolves finished the 2014 regular season with a 7-3 record before falling 43-42 in overtime at Evangel in the first round of the Division I playoffs. They host 2014 Class 4A quarterfinalist Karr in their regular season opener on September 4.
The Raiders are coming off of an undefeated regular season and a trip to the Division I semifinals, where they fell to Jesuit 28-14. They are ranked number 21 nationally in maxpreps.com’s preseason poll and will open the regular season at defending Division II state champion University High on September 4.
The Raiders have won both of the previous Christian Brothers Jamborees, defeating the Wolves 14-7 in 2013 and 31-14 last year. The jamboree’s name is a nod to both schools’ Lasallian heritage and is meant to honor the Christian Brothers who have served the schools.
