(Covington, L.A.) Last Saturday, April 21, the ninth Annual Alumni Crawfish Cook-off was held at SPS to give alumni a chance to reconnect and flex their crawfish cooking muscles.

“The 9th Annual Crawfish Cook-Off lived up to the highly anticipated expectation with beautiful weather, a healthy crowd, delectable crawfish, and most importantly a spirit of fellowship between several generations of Saint Paul’s brothers, their families and the community.” Alumni Director Al Nastasi said.

Teams competed for three awards; Best Booth(in terms of decoration), Judges best Crawfish, and Peoples Best Crawfish. In addition to the competitive crawfish cooking – a term you will only hear in south Louisiana- there is a tent allocated especially for alumni to reconnect and hangout.

30 teams stuffed the attendants with crawfish, each team cooking the crawfish in their own unique way. Grandmas recipe, Dads recipe, last minuet wiki-how recipe, and many others were all used as the teams cooked their best to separate themselves from the competition.

The winners of the Best Booth Award was Graphic Centre Signs. The winners of the People’s Choice best crawfish award was CM Combs Construction, LLC; and the Judges Favorite award went to SPS Radio network.
