Drake’s New Single “Slime You Out” Gives Positive Insight into New Album “For All The Dogs”

Fans have spoken, and Drake has finally delivered. “Slime You Out” has released as a surprise single after postponing Drake’s upcoming album “For All The Dogs” to October 6, 2023.

This single brings back the melodic style of Drake and focuses less on rap verses and more on vocals, and Drake brought back this style of music after fans demanded more R&B influence in his music.

Drake albums that are most R&B prominent include “Take Care,” “Nothing Was The Same,” and “More Life.” Fans have noted the nostalgic feel of this era of his music, dubbing it “Old Drake.” Not only does Drake deliver with his performance, but he also gives fans hope that his upcoming project will be as R&B balanced as “Old Drake” was.

The single also marks the first time Drake and popular R&B artist SZA have collaborated. This collaboration has been expected for many years, especially since they were very close before either of their musical careers took off.

In the single, both Drake and SZA take turns expressing their negative thoughts toward other genders. One example of a negative remark toward women by Drake from this song is “I feel like y’all don’t need love; you need somebody who can micromanage you.” SZA’s negative counter toward men is “You ain’t bout the stuff you rap about.”

“Slime You Out” also has very impressive production from both frequent collaborator, 40, and trending producer BNYX. BNYX is often utilized for his versatility and futuristic-sounding production.

The alliance between them on this track makes for a very rich, luxurious-sounding beat that perfectly fits the soothing vocal performances on the song. This track also marks the second time Drake has used BNYX’s production for his music.

Overall, this single offers a good outlook for Drake’s new project and is getting fans excited for its eventual release.

Saint Paul’s sophomore Lane Hamaker is very optimistic about the upcoming album and single. “This single is honestly one of the best things I have heard from Drake in a very long time. It brings back that signature Old Drake sound I’ve been wanting for a while. SZA also brings an outstanding vocal performance and has some solid lyrics on this song. Most of all, this single is giving me really high hopes for his new album.”
