The 16th annual Voodoo Music + Art Experience launches in New Orleans this Friday, Oct. 28, through the Sunday, Oct. 30. Voodoo as a whole is an experience of music, food, attractions, and community, located in City Park.
Musically, the festival will showcase 80 different acts ranging from alternative to rap. Some of these acts include Rae Sremmurd, Foals, The Weeknd, Die Antwoord, Cage the Elephant, Arcade Fire, and The Chainsmokers. There will also be various after-shows throughout the city. There will be five stages on site: Altar, Pepsi, Le Plur, South Course, and the Toyota Music Den. For the full music lineup, visit the Voodoo schedule page.
One thing better than music is the combination of both music and food. This perfect duo will be easy to find at Voodoo. There will be 20 different food stands on site, and if those don’t cut it, it won’t be hard to find food around the festival grounds in the city of New Orleans. Some on-site food stands include Bud’s Broiler, the Rusty Pelican, and Cajun Corner. For more on the food options, visit the Voodoo food page.
Interactive events will also be on scene such as the Pepsi 1893 tasting lounge, the Mortuary graveyard, Voodoo Mart, the Dove Chocolate Lounge, and the Toyota Music Den. This provides a fun experience to take part in when a break is in need, or if you just want to walk around the park. Across the park will be multiple art installations by many new-coming young talents. Also this year, Uber will be on scene in order to make traveling through the busy city less stressful.
The event gates open at 12 p.m. daily, and tickets are still available online for one-day admission and three-day passes. Ticket holders of one-day admission are not allowed to re-enter the park, but three-day ticket holders may come and go as they please. Parking passes and shuttle tickets are available for purchase online, as well. For more information on tickets and parking, visit the Voodoo ticket page.
