(COVINGTON, La.) St. Paul’s annual Jazz ‘N Roll event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, in the Briggs Assembly Center from 7-11 p.m. to raise funds for the school. It’s a night of live music and a silent auction for St. Paul’s items, works of local artists, and local services and events.
“There’s a variety of food, courteous student waiters, and the excitement of an auction,” parent Suzette Day said, who is one of the many St. Paul’s community members who have enjoyed attending the event each year.
This will be the 28th year of Jazz ‘N Roll, and this year the auction will be especially convenient due to the use of online mobile bidding. Rather than a traditional auction or a paper auctioning system, people will be able to use their cell phones to silently bid for things. Live music will be provided by the Bucktown All-Stars, the same band which played at the event last year, and dinner will be provided by caterer Gary Bonanno. Also, if music and food aren’t enough to pull fans away from the LSU game, they can look forward to the game being projected on an oversized drop-down screen. If the Tigers lose, there will still be great cuisine, fellowship, and libations to lighten up the evening.
The event is organized by the Development Office under the supervision of Special Events Director Shellie Campo and Development Director Danielle Lavie.
“It’s a fun event,” Lavie said. “It’s entertaining, and if you enjoy good music, then come on and join us.”
You can join in on Jazz ‘N Roll through the purchase of tickets or a sponsorship.
“We offer sponsorships for the event,” Lavie said, “and with a sponsorship you get an invitation to the Patron Party, which is an hour before from 6:00 to 7:00. If you get the sponsorship in before October 1, you will be included in the invitation which goes out to about 1,200 people. You also get entry tickets to Jazz ‘N Roll along with all the sponsorships.”
