
(COVINGTON, La.) — The St. Paul’s Bowling Wolves are coming off of an undefeated district season where they set multiple school records. This year, the young team are currently 3-4. The team drives to Hammond three days a week to compete and practice at Tangi Lanes.
The Bowling Team currently consists of eight players: junior Matthew Barber, sophomore Jack Bertucci, sophomore Trysten Melerine, sophomore Kasey Gottschalk, freshman Jared Harmon, pre-freshman Samuel Drez, pre-freshman Kaiden Klebba, and pre-freshman William Coles.
Jack Bertucci is the son of the head coach, Peter Bertucci, and is currently leading the team with an average score of 203. The manager for the team is Lee Tryney, an employee at Tangi Lanes. Coach Bertucci said, “The Pro Shop supplies our players with great equipment and maintenance.”
The Bowling Wolves pride themselves on their accepting culture. The team is always willing to take on new members, regardless of their bowling experience. “We look for the right people who fit our team and who want to commit to learning something new. Not many people know how fun this sport is on a competitive level,” said Coach Bertucci.
Coach Bertucci looks to take the Wolves to the State Championships in Gonzales, Louisiana at Premier Lanes on April 2 and 3.
