
(COVINGTON, La.) — Who is Alex Trebek?
The beloved host of the popular game show Jeopardy passed away on November 8. Trebek was the host for 36 years, starting in 1984. Trebek hosted over 8,000 episodes of Jeopardy. He won many different awards in his career, including seven Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Game Show Host and the Peabody Award. Trebek is also in the National Association of Broadcasters Broadcasting Hall of Fame.
Trebek has also done wonders for his community. In 2011, he started the Trebek Family Foundation. In June 2020, he donated $500,000 to the Los Angeles Homeless Outreach Organization.
“Alex Trebek was not just the face of Jeopardy, he was face of Quiz Bowl,” St. Paul’s Quiz Bowl moderator Kelly Hightower said. “His perseverance was an example for all of us,” she said.
