(COVINGTON, La.) — The NBA is coming off of an end to its last season where games were played in a bubble in Orlando, Florida.

The Los Angeles Lakers prevailed in the Finals, winning their 17th championship. LeBron James, who averaged 29.8 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game, and Anthony Davis, who averaged 25 points and 10.7 rebounds, both contributed to this achievement.

However, a new season provides new opportunities for other teams. The Milwaukee Bucks made a blockbuster trade with the New Orleans Pelicans that sent point guard Jrue Holiday to the Bucks, a team with back-to-back MVP and former defensive player of the year Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Brooklyn Nets have superstars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving returning from injury, and they are also pursuing former MVP James Harden.

With these new team additions, it is up for debate which team is the best coming into the 2020-21 season.

The Lakers should be the favorite because of James and Davis. James has asserted his dominance in the last decade, and Davis has made the All-Star Game in six of the last eight seasons. Along with these stars, the Lakers also signed Sixth Man of the Year Montrezl Harrell and traded for Sixth Man of the Year runner Dennis Schroeder. They were able to keep guards Alex Caurso and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who both played big parts in the 2020 NBA Finals. From all their new and old players, the Lakers will once again prove that they are the best team in the league.
