(COVINGTON, La.) — The St. Paul’s Investment Club started buying and selling this school year under the direction of new teacher Shawn Mullet.
The Investment Club studies the stock market – how it works and its lingo. Members choose sectors to research and make investment recommendations.
Seniors Axel Henderson and Matthew Collins helped start the club. They own an investment fund called Hawkwood Capital Management. Collins has his own nonprofit organization called 985 Investment Club where he plans to provide free personal finance education to high school students around the world.
The St. Paul’s Investment Club meets every other Tuesday in room 208 and is open to all students. Sophomore Peter Verges said, “The investment club is not only a great way to get involved at Saint Paul’s, but it is also a great way to learn about one’s personal finance and how to manage it.”
