(COVINGTON, La.) — In a heart wrenching overtime loss at the Cajundome, St. Paul’s was defeated by the St. Augustine Purple Knights 75-72 in the Louisiana Division 1 state semifinals.

The Wolves controlled the game in the first half, but stalled in the second. After allowing an 11-point lead slip in the third quarter, it became anyone’s game. Both teams exchanged leads in the final minutes, finally forcing the game into overtime. The teams battled until St. Aug pulled away with a 3-point dagger from Hubert Caliste, a 6-foot-5-inch freshman. The Wolves had one last chance to tie with a half court heave, but the shot missed and ended a season to remember.
