A Day in the Life of a Saint Paul’s Senior

As a Saint Paul’s Senior with what I believe is a somewhat interesting life, my incredibly eventful, but typical day includes my class schedule and after-school activities. I am happy to share my day with readers.

6:30 A.M. – I find the strength to roll out of bed and begin my day. I stroll downstairs half asleep, pack my lunch, eat a banana, pack my bag for the school day, and bicker at my sisters to go to the car.

7:00 A.M. – I pull out the driveway and drive my sisters to school at Saint Scholastica Academy. The drive is pretty quiet due to the early morning sleep haze. No one has much to say because the urge to fall asleep is evident.

7:30 A.M. – When I get to school, I pull into my usual Senior Parking Lot space and chill in my car for a moment before my busy day kicks off. Chilling consists listening to music and looking through social media on my phone. Having left over homework is rare, but I will not lie and say I have never done homework the morning it is due.

8:00 A.M. – Today, school began with religion class with Mr. Bobak, I thoroughly enjoy this class, as it is laid back and keeps me entertained. Mr. Bobak is a great religion teacher, keeping a nice balance of knowledge and entertainment in his class while not putting us to sleep. Some of the class activities include watching motivational videos, working on our Lasallian leadership presentation, praying, and talking about sports.

9:34 A.M. – Religion class has come to an end, and now I enter Journalism. Due to my writing interests, I love this class. Each student writes three articles a month that are published in The Paper Wolf, and Mr. Guarisco gives us the option to write about what our interests are. I love the tight atmosphere of this class and working with my friends. Today, we are full of adrenaline because this is the class before lunch time.

11:20 A.M. – LUNCH IS HERE! Not only is this my favorite part of the school day, but I base my whole day around it. All of my anticipation and excitement from the moment I wake up is centered around lunch and the social hour that comes with it. Today I am eating banana chocolate bread, lemon yogurt, pistachios, a protein bar, and an apple. A solid lunch makes today even better.

12:00 P.M. – I enter my third period class of Probability and Statistics and look toward the end of the day. This classroom is always freezing, and today I forgot my hoodie, which will put me into endless pain for an hour and a half. This classroom is the coldest classroom at the school, according to a popular vote on Mason Schwall’s “Top 5 Coldest Classrooms at Saint Paul’s,” article. I need your prayers.

1:29 P.M. – I am hitting the home stretch, but I have a slow class to get through first. Physics is always a tough class to get through due to the difficulty and work done in class. I find myself staring at the clock a lot wanting to leave. Though I do like my teacher, Mr. Arbo, a lot, it’s a tough subject for me.

3:00 P.M. – The school day has finally ended, and I’m going back to SSA to pick up my sisters. After I pick them up, I run home, change my clothes, and head to Pelican Athletic Club (P.A.C.) to play basketball with my friends.

4:00 P.M. – I arrive at P.A.C., meet my friends, and start hooping. This is a good form of working out for me due to the cardio and leg strength I receive from it. Basketball is a versatile sport, making it a lot of fun for me.

5:45 P.M. – I depart P.A.C. and head home, excited for dinner. First, I shower. This is oddly also one of my favorite parts of the day. Then I head downstairs to dinner where I grub on some homemade Louisiana gumbo. I have to say, it was impeccable. Thanks, mom.

6:30 P.M. – I complete some homework and study for tests, if necessary. What I appreciate most about my average school day is the nice balance of homework and classwork. I do not go home absolutely exhausted. Instead, I come home with energy and a drive to be more productive with a small workload left to complete.

8:00-11:00 P.M. – After I’m finally done with school, I usually wind down and play Madden 23. My evenings are usually pretty relaxing and I get to bed at a decent time.
