The English Premier League (EPL) Team Arsenal (Gunners) has everything it needs to win the EPL. The Gunners have been so close to winning the league, placing 2nd for three consecutive years.

Manager Mikel Arteta has made numerous transfers, signing many players who will all play a crucial role on the team this season. The Gunners’ main focus this offseason was signing a forward, as well as addressing other positions.

Toward the end of the offseason, Arteta came to a decision to sign Striker Victor Gyokeres from Sporting CP for £64 million. Gyokeres scored 97 goals in 102 games across all competitions, making a name as one of the best strikers in the world. Gyokeres’ first Premier League start did not go as planned.

Gyokeres did not score or contribute much to the team against Manchester United in match week 1. Although he did not perform as good as everyone thought, this past Saturday, he contributed 2 goals to the Gunners’ 5-0 win against Leeds.

Gyokeres was not the only new signing who played well in their past games.

Martin Zubimendi (midfielder) from Real Sociedad played the full 90 minutes against Leeds. Zubimendi had 92 touches and had a pass completion percentage of 90% completing 75 passes out of 83.

After the injury of Kai Havertz, Arteta immediately signed Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace for £67.5 million. Eze played his first game for Arsenal on August 31st against Liverpool.

During the Liverpool game, Arsenal’s star center back William Saliba picked up an injury early in the game. His sub was Cristhian Masquera, who is another player Arsenal picked up during the transfer window.

Mosquera played 85 minutes, having an 80% tackle rate and having 2 blocked shots. Watching him play, he looked like a solid replacement until Saliba was healthy.

Max Dowman, one of the youngest players to represent Arsenal, is 15 years old and is already standing out.

Manager Mikel Arteta was impressed seeing Dowman perform really well in practice and in his first Premier League game. “There is a kid here who has zero hesitation. He’s so convinced that he can go in at 15 and deliver that, which I’ve never witnessed in my life. And for us, it brings joy, it brings emotion, and something else that makes our jobs so great,” said Arteta.

Another young player who will be key this season is outside back Myles Lewis Skelly (18). Last season, Skelly helped Arsenal’s defense and helped out the offense, scoring 1 goal and having 3 assists as a left back in 39 appearances.

The last young player who is going to have an impact this season is Ethan Nwaneri.

Nwaneri played in 37 games, having 9 goals and 2 assists. Nwaneri impressed many fans after his performance against Leicester City, winning the man of the match with a goal and an assist.

Nwaneri became the youngest Premier League player to record a goal and an assist in the same game at 17 years and 331 days.

This team has a lot of leadership coming from captain Martin Ødegaard and other players such as Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, and William Saliba.

Ødegaard has been the captain since he was 23 years old in 2022. Other leader Saka praises Ødegaard for his work as captain by describing him as a “fantastic leader” who “leads by example on and off the pitch.”

Saka, who is Arsenal’s star player, is also a great leader who can easily be a captain. Saka is always being humble, whether it is to his teammates or his fans.

Rice, who joined the team on July 15, 2023, has quickly become an important leader on the team. The versatile midfielder plays one of the most important positions on the field, running from box to box and helping on defense and offense.

In the ongoing season, expect all of Arsenal’s weapons to play very crucial roles in their run for the Premier League title.
