The fifth annual crawfish cook-off was held on the beautiful Saturday of April 12. Twenty-six teams gathered, and when the pot boiling had subsided and the crawfish were eaten, one team stood above the rest. Lagniappe Tree Service excelled this year winning all three of the categories — best booth, judge’s choice, and people’s choice — and ultimately winning the overall award. Over 8500 pounds of crawfish were boiled, and “not a claw was left to eat.” The net proceeds benefited Hope House Children’s Advocacy Center and the St. Paul’s Alumni Association.
