The NCAA Men’s College Basketball Tournament Bracket was released Sunday, March 15, featuring the Kentucky Wildcats, Duke Blue Devils, Wisconsin Badgers, and Villanova Wildcats as the four number-one seeds. Dubbed March Madness, this time of year is marked by obsessive spur-of-the-moment research, frantic bracketeering, and faux-intelligent trash talk at the water cooler by people pretending to have followed all 68 teams with laser-like precision this whole year.
Students are not exempt from the Madness, and some, like Chemistry teacher Lee Pierre, offer bonus points for successful brackets. Therefore, The Paper Wolf will be hosting a March Madness competition on ESPN.com, with the winner receiving a $25 gift card to Best Buy. Here are the rules:
1) Click the Bracket Challenge link here, or do so manually on ESPN.com by searching for the group “St. Paul’s March Madness.”
2) Enter “thepaperwolf” as the password. Don’t get cute and include the quotation marks or you won’t get in.
3) Try to fill out the perfect bracket. Good luck; nobody has EVER done it.
4) That’s it! You’re in. Keep the bracket names G-rated or you’ll be kicked out. You’re limited to one entry, so don’t try to pollute the pool. All of your picks have to be made by the first game of the Round of 64 or YOUR BRACKET WILL NOT BE COUNTED.
Good luck, and don’t get too mad when I win.
