2016 Homecoming Court Presented

(COVINGTON, La.) — Homecoming week is an annual tradition celebrated by thousands of high schools across the country, and was celebrated last week at St. Paul’s School. One of the traditional events of Homecoming Week is the selection of girls to the Homecoming Court. Many are nominated, but only one is selected to be the queen.

molly-brown-7923This year’s queen, reigning over Homecoming week was Queen Molly Brown. Brown is the daughter of alumnus Baldwin Brown (’84) and Laura Brown, and a senior at St. Scholastica Academy. She is an honor student who has earned Alpha Honor Roll recognition for four years. She currently serves as the Student Council Executive President and SSA’s varsity volleyball team captain. She is a member of the National, Mathematic, English, Science and Social Studies Honor Societies. She is also a member of the foreign language club, serves as a Student Minister and a member of the Color Guard. Molly was nominated and escorted by senior Colin Sullivan.

lindsey-parkins-7982Senior Maid Lindsey Parkins, daughter of Kevin and Kristen Parkins, is a senior at St. Scholastica Academy. She currently serves as SSA’s Swim Team captain. Lindsey has received All-District, All-Metro, and All-State recognition for three years in Swimming. She is a member of National, English, Science, and Social Studies Honor Societies, as well as Mu Alpha Theta. She has received Alpha Honor Roll recognition for four years. Lindsey was nominated and escorted by senior Liam Ordoyne.

amy-scheuermann-7949Senior Maid Amy Scheuermann, daughter of Thomas and Ana Scheuermann, is currently a senior at St. Scholastica Academy. She is the Vice President of the Social Studies Honor Society and a member of the National, English, Science, and Mu Alpha Theta Honor Societies. Amy is an honor student, and she is currently ranked second in her class. Amy is the captain of the St. Scholastica cross country team and has been recognized as a 4.0 athlete for four years. Amy serves as a Student Minister and an Extraordinary Minister. Amy was nominated and escorted by senior Thomas Bowden.

rachael-stewart-7938Senior Maid Rachael Stewart, daughter of alumnus Mike Stewart (’79) and Elizabeth Stewart, is a senior at St. Scholastica Academy. She is the co-captain of the St. Paul’s Cheerleading team and is a member of the Tiger Elite Competition cheer team based in New Orleans. She is an active member of Mu Alpha Theta, and National, English, Science, and Social Studies Honor Societies. She is also a member of Student Ministry and SADD Club. She has received Honor Roll recognition each year during her years at SSA. Rachael was nominated and escorted by senior August Latapie.

elizabeth-simoneaux-7988Senior Maid Elizabeth Simoneaux, daughter of Todd and Dee Simoneaux of Covington, is a senior at St. Scholastica Academy. An alpha honor roll student, she has achieved membership in the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, National Science Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and acts as Service Coordinator for the Social Studies Honor Society. She serves her school community as a Student Minister, and is a member of Key Club, Foreign Language Club, and Student Council. Elizabeth was nominated and escorted by senior Andrew Grashoff.

Junior Maid Eileen Bolton, daughter of Kathleen Bolton, is a junior at St. Scholastica Academy. She is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, English, Latin, Social Studies, National, and Science Honor Societies. Eileen also participates in Key Club and has been recognized as a 4.0 Athlete and member of SSA’s Varsity Indoor and Outdoor Track teams. She is an honor student and has earned Alpha Honor Roll recognition each year during her years at SSA. Eileen was nominated and escorted by Junior Rhyne Sepcich.

kate-weldon-7913Junior Maid Kate Weldon, daughter of Kieran and Julie Bradford Weldon, is a junior at St. Scholastica Academy. She is currently a member of the English, Mu Alpha Theta, Latin, Social Studies, and Science National Honor Societies. She is also serving as Vice President of the Science National Honor Society. Kate is a second year member of the St. Paul’s Golden Blues and also participates in the Latin, Speech, and Art Clubs. She has earned Alpha Honor Roll every year. Kate was nominated by junior Jack Bonaldi, but was escorted by junior Rhett Schwing.

The official presentation of the court took place at halftime of the football game against Hammond High on Friday, Sept. 30. Kerilynn Walsh, who is currently a freshman at Louisiana State University, returned the crown to 2016 queen Molly Brown.
