(COVINGTON, La.) — The Iron Wolves recently took place in the South Regional Powerlifting Meet at Pope John Paul II High School, in Slidell, La. Head Coach Jesse Kellum has been training the Wolves for over ten years now, with a strong winning tradition and multiple State Champions. Assistant Coach Joshua Gast has also been coaching for the Iron Wolves for a few years now and only gets the very best out of his athletes. The Wolves lifted to the best of their abilities and ended up placing 2nd in the meet. Here are the individual results from the Wolves:

Senior Philip Nicaud finished first place in the 165 lbs weight class. Nicaud squatted 540 lbs, benched 360 lbs, and deadlifted 455 lbs for grand total of 1355 lbs.
Senior Mason Impastato finished in first place in the 148 lbs weight class. Impastato squatted 475 lbs, benched 260 pounds, and deadlifted 465 lbs for a grand total of 1200 lbs.
Pre-Freshman Joshua Kellum took home first place in the 123 lbs weight class. Kellum squatted 425 lbs, benched 230 lbs, and deadlifted 405 for a grand total of 1060 lbs.
Lifter of the Meet
Senior Jason Toups had quite a meet, placing first in his 275 lbs weight class at 250 pounds. Toups had the highest total at the meet out of every weight class. Toups broke the South Regional squat record with a 690 lbs squat (video). Toups also benched 420 lbs and deadlifted 600 lbs for a grand total of 1710 lbs.
