(COVINGTON, La.) — Instead of celebrating the birthday of beloved Bro. Alfred Baltz, FSC, St. Paul’s is mourning his passing. Bro. Alfred passed away on Sept. 9 at the age of 97.

“I will always remember Bro. Alfred for his incredible work ethic,” said Kenny Sears III.  Remembering the countless oak trees Bro. Alfred planted over the years, Principal Trevor Watkins said that the campus would look very different today if it were not for Bro. Alfred.

“Bro. Alfred was a teacher, coach, athletic director, handyman, and friend to countless students,” said Watkins. But what was most important about Bro. Alfred’s life, was his devout prayer life. “He prayed for us all the time,” said Watkins. Bro. Alfred’s legacy will remain a fundamental aspect of the St. Paul’s community. “I know he continues to look out for us from heaven,” said Watkins.
