(COVINGTON, La.) — Athletic Director Craig Ketelsen, who has taught, coached and inspired students since 1988, will retire at the end of the school year.

As he reached 30-years of service, Ketelson was able to both retire and seek employment elsewhere. Christ Episcopal School recently announced that he will service as Athletic Director. “I am living proof that St. Paul’s is a great place to grow up,” Ketelson said. “St. Paul’s means everything to me. I would like to thank Bro. Ray, the teachers, but mostly, the hundreds of students and athletes I coached for the privilege of allowing me to grow to become what I am. I will always be a proud member of the pack,” he said.

In his place, Sam Francis was named St. Paul’s new Athletic Director. Francis has been at St. Paul’s since 2007 and has coached football and taught World Geography. “I am looking forward to working with such a great group of coaches to develop our student-athletes and to continue the success of our athletic teams,” Francis said.

Ketelson added, “Coach Francis will do a fine job as Athletic Director. He has the experience and work ethic to do the job. He is tech savvy, so he will be able to modernize many things.”
